US WAT C3: Life in Wonder of the World - Grand Canyon

I spent 3 months to work, and 1 month to travel around.
During the 3 months working period, I was glad that I did not waste my days off.
No matter it's company trips, or parties, I took the opportunity to involve myself into these activities.

One to two miles south from the Grand Canyon National Park, there's a town called Tusayan.
Been there few times, for different purposes.
The town's main street:
The Reflection:
Aspen tree:
Airplane:
Had my 1st Mc D in US here~
And that's the Grand Canyon IMAX Theater in the National Geographic Visitor Center, showing the documentary about the mighty canyon.
And I manged to know new friends from China.
They were here for work and travel too.
Had my 1st pizza @ here too~
This boy just kept on posing and wanted me to take pics of him~ LOL!
And there's a Museum too.
This was the cover of a magazine. If they sell it in Malaysia, sure kena banned gao gao!

The 1st trip that I joined headed to Sedona, the Red Rock Country!
It's about 2 hours drive from the park.
The Sedona Downtown.
And the middle one was our pretty tour guide a.k.a driver!
A hot chick but in a relationship! lol!
The well known Bell Rock of Sedona, couldn't get clear image cuz I shot the pic in van.
We went to the Slide Rock State Park.
National Park is managed by National Park Service, under federal government.
State Park is managed by own state authorities.
As you can see, the rock is damn red!
Weird pose!=.=
You hardly can get out from the park to get groceries if you don't own a car.
So we gonna took that chance to shop what we need.
Next, the trip continued with a town called Flagstaff.
And there's where we SHOP SHOP SHOP!
Among the favorites are Ross, Dollar Tree, Best Buy, Walmart and bla, bla, bla~
A Spalding Basketball costs less than USD 20!
And you could even find a pair of Nike basketball shoes as low as USD5.99????!!!!!
But usually it's XTRA large size lar....
You can get good quality stuffs with cheap price in US, especially branded one!
First time shopping result!

The next trip was basically visiting the towns around Nothern Arizona.
It started with Williams, an hour drive from the park, is the gateway to Grand Canyon.
Route 66!

A little fact here:
Route 66, known as the "Main Street of America" or the "Mother Road", is a highway stretches from Chicago to California since 1926. It passed through Williams, Flagstaff and Ashfork too.

Ashfork, an abandoned town. I think it's quite suitable for shooting those horror movie scene. LOL!

Somewhere on the road, we dropped by Safeway.
Just imagine it as a Carrefour or Tesco with own gas station.
And on the way, you could see those Harley-Davidson's fans riding in a line.
It rained so badly while we entered Jerome.
Every town has their own entry signboard, with the elevation and founded date.
That's really cool!
Jerome, so called a city of ghost. It was once a mining town and the wickedest town in West for its hotbed of prostitution, gambling and vice. Currently, the population of the town is roughly 300++.
- Jerome, The City of Ghost -

"America's Most Vertical City" and "Largest Ghost Town in America".

Jerome, Arizona, located high on top of Cleopatra Hill (5,200 feet) between Prescott and Flagstaff is the historic copper mining town of Jerome, Arizona. Once known as the wickedest town in the west, Jerome was a copper mining camp, growing from a settlement of tents to a roaring mining community. Four disastrous fires destroyed large sections of the town during its early history, resulting in the incorporation of the City of Jerome in 1899.
A mining site still can be found.
The journey went on!
Damn colourful houses!
**Finding #3: In the States, there's a lot of mobile house, or so called home trailers along the highway. They can be moved anywhere on a huge truck!
Had our lunch in this China Buffet Restaurant.
Really delicious!
Next destination would be Tuzigoot National Monument.
The place preserves a 2 to 3 stories Pueblo ruins.
Pueblo is a term to describe the modern community of Native American in Southwestern of US.
The explorers!
The view from the top of the monument was breathtaking!

The same gorgeous tour guide! LOL!
JC Penny & Victoria's Secret! I still dun und wat the secret is. LOL!

-----------------------------------XXX-------------------------------------XXX---------------------------------------

Enough for the trips!
Sometimes, joining tours can save lotsa time.
It's free for employees!
An enthusiastic learner will be curious about anything happened in the canyon.
Ranger program would be a good choice!

My very first and last movie screening @ Recreational Center.
With free popcorn and lemonade! :D
Don't play play ar. This movie just won the Golden Globe Awards for best motion picture- comedy or musical.
